Questions and answers
The questions people ask about Car Log.
Getting started
Is Car Log free?
Yes. Every feature is free, the export included. Ads pay for the app, and one purchase removes them. There is no subscription.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no account and no sign-up. The log stays on your phone.
Is there an iPhone version?
No. Car Log is an Android app.
Several cars?
Yes. Each fill-up, service and expense names its vehicle; the screens show one car or all of them.
Fuel
Which units?
Gallons (US or UK), litres and kWh; miles or kilometers; mpg (US), mpg (UK), L/100 km or km/L; any currency from a searchable list.
Electric and plug-in hybrid cars?
Yes: charges in kWh or battery %, and a plug-in hybrid keeps two consumptions. See Fuel log.
Two fuels in one car?
Yes: flex (ethanol and gas), CNG + gas, LPG + gas. Each fill-up says which fuel went in. See Ethanol or gas.
Why does my consumption look wrong?
Usually a fill-up was not logged. Tick Missed fill-up on the next one: that cycle leaves the averages. See Calculate gas mileage.
